Dr. Crystal A. Moore, M.D./Ph.D., FCAP is a native of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Although she has lived and traveled around the United States and the world, all roads have led back to her home in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she resides with her two teenage sons. She is a graduate of Indian River HS and obtained her B.A. in biology from The University of Virginia. Dr. Moore professed, even as a young child, that she wanted to be a physician. For her, medicine is not just a profession, but also a calling. Following that calling led her to pursue a dual doctorate, physician-scientist, M.D./Ph.D. degree at the Medical College of Virginia. Her Ph.D was awarded in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics. She completed her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Duke University and is a board certified Fellow of the College of American Pathologists.
Currently Dr. Moore proudly serves as a staff pathologist at the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She also holds affiliations and laboratory directorships with several private labs in the cities of Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Newport News, Virginia.
